As the graphic design intern at Workshop Hero in Howell, Mi., I created this direct mail postcard for the winners of a bike builder’s competition. The winners received a package with our products and Workshop Hero swag along with this postcard. Designing this postcard, I focused on a worn vintage look for overall brand consistency.
One of my favorite memories at my internship was spending the weekend photographing and creating a time-lapse of Workshop Hero Day in Paxton, Illinois. Workshop Hero™, makers of Metal Rescue™ Rust Remover Bath and Dry Coat™ Rust Preventative Spray held a sweepstakes on our Facebook page for one winner and a friend to win a chance to pick with Frank Fritz from American Pickers. Local Paxton resident Robin McNish won the sweepstakes. We decided to bring Frank to her instead of bringing her to Frank. This resulted in Frank signing autographs, a car show, venders and a band in the middle of Paxton thus resulting in the birth of Workshop Hero™ Day! See below for a video of the event featuring the time lapse I created.
Creating this time-lapse was so fun. I woke up before sunrise to drive into the small town, climb a sketchy ladder onto a sketchy roof, and set up my camera to capture the day unfold.
